my name is Rose.

Hello there! My background in Art History and Conservation of Cultural Heritage at the Dutch University of Nijmegen and Amsterdam, led me to a fascination and knowledge about the history and materiality of art and design. In 2021 I graduated from the Masters of Arts and Culture at Radboud University.

After years of observing and handling art, lurking in museums, art galleries and furniture workshops, I’ve developed a love for the materiality and design of art. And above all, for its preservation; both in form and in words. So, let's stop lovely design and art from ending up in skips.

In my view, undeniably, designs and techniques from the past offer a vast ocean of inspiration and insight for contemporary artists and makers. Furthermore, and not unimportant, by restoring and reusing existing furniture we’ll reduce production and consumption within the furniture sector, and consequently contribute to a healthier society.

When I’m not rescuing and thinking about postmodern furnishings and antique sideboards, I’ll point cameras at things. I engage in the creative process through photography - and through words - digital and analogue techniques, creating free work and commissioned pieces. STUDIO EBBING was founded in 2023 with a love for art to convey and preserve the power and beauty of craftsmanship and design.
